The Banff National Park, one of the main attractions to see during a trip to Canada, is in the province of Alberta and consists of an area characterized by spectacular mountain scenery, corresponding to a total area of 6641 sq km.
Things to do in Banff
Within the park lies the charming town of Banff, which is about 130 Km. From Calgary, the closest town to the park. In the fall of 1883 was the discovery, on the eastern slope of the Rocky Mountains, a cave from which flow hot springs.
Two years later, in 1885, the park was established, this extraordinary set of forests, high peaks, glaciers and lakes, became the first national park in Canada, and third in the world.
The Icefields Parkway, also known as Highway 93 is the scenic route through the Banff National Park and Jasper National Park, linking Lake Louise to Jasper, in the heart of the charming Canadian Rockies.
