The archipelago is located in the Andaman Sea, southern Thailand, and consists of 6 islands, Phi Phi Don, Phi Phi Leh, Koh Phai, Koh Yung, Bida Nok and Bida Nai. The archipelago belongs to the province of Krabi and is about 50 Km. from the island of Phuket, a popular tourist destination.
The main islands of this small archipelago are Phi Phi Don, the larger and with many accommodation options, and Phi Phi Leh, not permanently inhabited and renowned for its beautiful beach Maya Bay, where they were shot some scenes in the movie The Beach, with Leonardo Di Caprio.
The island Phi Phi Don can be reached by ferry or speedboat from Phuket, from the port of Rassada, or by ferry from the port of Krabi. Phi Phi Don island you can rent boats or join organized trips to visit the island Phi Phi Leh and other islets.
The archipelago is part of a great natural heritage, the Koh Phi Phi National Park, famous for its crystal clear sea and seabed populated by a large variety of fish and corals.
