Sporades are an archipelago located in the Aegean Sea on the north-east of Greece, they belong to the islands of Skiathos, Skopelos, Alonissos and Skyros. The climate of Skiathos is Mediterranean, characterized by hot summers and then mild winters.

– Skiathos is very popular from the point of view of nature as it includes extensive pine forests, many creeks between bays and coves, lush forests of plane trees and beautiful sandy beaches. The eponymous capital of the island, dating from 1830 and situated on two hills, is one of the major centers of tourist attraction of Greece. The Church dell’Evangelistria is a convent in 1775 with a discreet dome adorned with diamond windows, wooden altar with two icons of ancient workmanship. In this monastery are sold typical products made by monks including wine, oil and spirits. Among the most beautiful beaches in the fall Koukounaries beach, one of the most famous of the Aegean Sea and surrounded by a beautiful pine forest, the beach Lalaria, located north of the island and accessible only by boat sailing from the small port, is characterized by impressive cliffs white and white sand covering the whole of its coastline.
– Skopelos, the largest island of the Sporades, has a long and narrow shape with a marina reached by catamarans via Thessaloniki and Volos via addition to the regular racing ferries. With pebble beaches sea water is clear. In the port area there are several restaurants and nightclubs. For those who like to get around the island freely is possbile to rent two-wheeled vehicles with potential to reach the best beaches in a few minutes, moving in the western part of the island or towards the north of the bay of Panormos.
– Alonissos belongs to the prefecture of Magnesia and has for capital the city of Volos. The population resides almost entirely in the south where the port town of Patitiri from which various sea links to nearby islands and the mainland. The village of Rousoum, located a short distance from Partitiri, is renowned for its beach as well as for its nightlife and the wide range of houses to rent. The village of Votsi is a very quiet place where you can admire the typical houses on the cliffs overlooking the sea. There is Alonissos, an ancient village, and Steni Vala, a small fishing port.
– Skyros is a municipality located on the island.
