Tonga is an island state of Oceania consists of an archipelago in the South Pacific Ocean, south of Samoa and east of Fiji. The archipelago consists of 170 islands and islets, mostly uninhabited. The highest point of its territory is the Kao volcano (1,030 m) located on the island of the same name, in the Ha’apai group of islands.
