Utah is one of the states in which they divided the United States of America, located in the west of the Rocky Mountains with capital Salt Lake City, a city that takes its name from the Great Salt Lake in the immediate vicinity.
It is characterized by a natural landscape varied between arid deserts characterized by frequent sand dunes and lush pine forests in the broad valleys between the mountains. Neighboring states are Idaho, Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona and Nevada.
In the central part of the state is the mountain range of the Wasatch Range with peaks also quite high. No coincidence that in these mountains it snows a lot during the winter months and are therefore the ideal destination for those who love to ski.
Other important mountains located in the north east are the Uinta Mountains that border on average four thousand meters and whose highest peak is the Kings Peak with its 4,123 m. The Wasatch Front is an area located in the west of the region of the Wasatch Range, and is formed by a set of valleys and basins where the majority of the population resides.
The climate of Utah is mostly arid with few phenomena rainy throughout the year. In summer and autumn occur thundershowers large entities that can cause flooding and fire due to electrical discharges of lightning. The main cities are Ogden, Salt Lake City, Layton, West Valley City, Sandy, West Jordan, Orem and Provo.
